Availability of Aerial 23-x version Source Archive and Questions on OAI Integration

Hello all,

I recently purchased the Grace Hopper platform, but due to shipping delays, I plan to run preliminary tests using my current Dell R750 server with an A100 GPU. For that reason, I’d like to first experiment with Aerial version 23, which supports A100. However, I noticed that only versions 24 and 25 seem to have their container images and source packages publicly available. Is there any way to access or download the version 23 container or source archive for testing purposes?

Additionally, I’m planning future end-to-end evaluations involving OpenAirInterface (OAI).
My questions are:

  1. Is it possible to run a hybrid configuration such as RU Emulator (NVIDIA) → Aerial (L1) + OAI (L2/L3) → OAI Core?

  2. Can Aerial be integrated through fronthaul with rfsim (OAI nr-UE) or another open-source simulator in a setup like rfsim (OAI nr-UE) → Aerial (L1) + OAI (L2/L3) → OAI Core? In other words, is it possible to perform an end-to-end test without any physical O-RU or commercial UE/RU simulators?

If any documentation, references, or example setups exist that cover such integration scenarios, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.

Hi Won,
R750 and Gigabyte are no longer supported, but we have some users who have used 25-2 on the Gigabyte servers, so you can try downloading the newer versions to test.

I think your first question is also being asked here, but the short answer is that it’s not currently supported.
The second option could be developed by adapting RF Sim to send and received O-RAN Fronthaul packets, as aerial is agnostic to the frontend, provided it’s O-RAN compliant.
