AVX and optimizations for Sandy bridge?

Hi

For the last couple PVF releases there has been an option for optimizing for Sandy bridge as target processor, however, when I enable this option I get the following warning:

pgfortran-Warning-Code generation for -tp=sandybridge-64 is not supported in this release; defaulting to -tp=nehalem-64

When will SB be supported as target CPU? Is there any way I can enable compilation using AVX instructions without optimizing for SB in the 11.4 compiler?

Hi CasperK,

PGI AVX support is currently in the final stages of performance and correctness testing both internally and by several PGI partners. We expect general availability in June’s 11.6 release barring any unforeseen complications.
