Mimic -tp=nehalem

Hello,

since -tp=nehalem is not supported anymore, which options should I use to get as close as possible to whatever -tp=nehalem did?

The docs btw are incomplete in that regard. Even the old PGI docs only list sandybridge and higher although -tp=nehalem worked until at least 21.5. So to find out what’s actually supported one would have to download every version and check with -help -tp. Slightly ridiculous.

Hi Audio,

Starting in the 21.9 release the compilers require x86_64 processors supporting a minimum of AVX instructions, i.e Sandy Bridge/Bulldozer or newer. Given the Nehalem only supported up to SSE4.1, you wont be able to use our new versions on this processor. This change is listed in our release notes.

Okay, but then the px option is pointless. The description reads:

generate code that is usable on any x86-64 processor-based system
