Hi,

I’m currently investigating the use of CUDA to increase the real-time performance of the existing software in one of our projects and I was wondering what the best GPU currently available is. NVIDIA seems to be selling supercomputers based on the Tesla C1060 card but the specs for the Geforce GTX 480 seem to be slightly better. Which would you recommend in order to get the best performance?

My friend April says the new GT310 beats the hell out of a GTX295.

The GTX 480 should outperform the current crop of Tesla cards. The Tesla line will be upgraded soonish with the new chips and those cards will have more RAM, possibly a few more cores and likely better double precision performance.
