is Cuda 12.7 released or not? i have Cuda 12.7 in my system. but I found 12.7 is not released in internet. im confused on that Can any one conform it.
Pure speculation on my part:
566.36 was released early December 2024 and the “CUDA Version: 12.7” indicates it’s been compiled with Cuda 12.7.
Perhaps public release of 12.7 is being withheld to coincide with the release of Blackwell GPUs.
Good grief, how many times till Nvidia listen and at least think about the wording of Cuda Version: 12.x in nvidia-smi. For better or worse lots of people seem to think this indicates the Cuda version they HAVE and not (as I believe - forgive me if I have it wrong) the maximum version this driver would support. Over the years this has caused lots of problems with unscrambling installation issues. Please consider it. Thanks
This if true makes a ton of sense. I had installed 12.6 and it didnt work with pytorch and had to downgrade and it gave me nightmares. They should just saw 12.x supported.
Sorry, I was not being clear. What I meant was change the wording not the bit after the “.”
So in this case, instead of it saying: “Cuda Version: 12.7” consider changing that to something like “Max Supported Cuda Version: !2.7”
