Hi everyone,
I am trying to use my 3060 to do some work in Unity and Blender, and both are crashing. I picked up a project from about a month ago, and back then, everything worked great. But now, both are failing almost immediately. Since I last worked on my project, I haven’t really used my computer for anything particularly cumbersome and I haven’t made any changes to my system or software. I’m also not a real pro, so what I’m working with in both Blender and Unity are very reasonably simple in the grand scheme of things.
Here are the issues:
In Unity, I am getting an error “Failed to present D3D11 swapchain due to device reset/removed”. My project uses HDRP, but even when turning off shading and just using the preview view, it crashes.
In Blender, when I use cycles to render, it works for a moment, but then it fails and reports that there was an illegal CUDA address.
I am assuming both issues are related, since they started happening at the same time. I initially updated my drivers, but that didn’t fix my problem, so I did some more investigating. I downloaded GPU-Z, and I noticed that once the GPU clock hits 100%, it crashes right after. Not sure if that’s a causation or correlation kind of thing though, but once again, my computer had no problem running the GPU at 100% just a month ago. I was also suspicious that maybe I was drawing too much power, but my CPU has no problem at all with soaking up power.
My system has a 750W PSU, 32 GB ram, an i5-13600KF, and my GPU is an RTX 3060 by Gigabyte.
If anyone could offer any insights or ideas on how to fix my issue, I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks
