My next GPU will be AMD since you, nvidia, can neither fix your stuff nor let anyone else do so like did AMD by making opensource drivers.
@amrits Any chance we can get an update on this? Itās been 2+ months and this is a pretty serious driver regression in which Cyberpunk is unplayable for users of the 20xx series of cards. With the latest release of the 2.0 Cyberpunk patch and DLC, this is even more frustrating. Particularly as the game worked in the past.
Please let us know if thereās any additional information we can provide to help fix the issue sooner.
Itās also unplayable for 16** series.
Well. its been more than 2months. Its when they put out 1.62.
And that was on: 8th of november 2022.
That was a year AGO!
Could anybody tell me - is this linux specific driver problem or Windows affected too?
Linux specific or rather say their Vulkan driver is like that so if you would run CP2077 on Windows with vkd3d-proton for some unknown reason result would be same.
Went to play cyberpunk for the first time only to run into this issue. Total letdown from Nvidia to let this issue sit for this long. No way someone at Nvidia has been looking at this for 2 months and gotten nowhere.
Great. A good reason to forget about nvidia and their āproblem investigatorsā when choosing new gpu.
We are seeing similar crash issue with another game Horizon Zero Dawn.
Team is actively working to root cause the issue.
Having the same issue on 535.113.01 with Cyberpunk 2.01 and the new Phantom Liberty extension on an RTX 3080. The game doesnāt run for more than 5 minutes after the expansion was installed, really frustrating!
Any update on this?
Hmm , thatās new ⦠usually , rtx 30xx arenāt concerned by the xid 31 problem.
I wish that was the case. Currently on Arch Linux 6.5.4-arch2-1 with driver version 535.104.05 and an RTX 3060TI, and I consistently get the XID 31 crash after ~30-45mins of gameplay in Cyberpunk 2077. Been having the problem intermittently since release; some versions of the game / proton / nvidia drivers seem to fix it, and some donāt. Most of them donāt.
I started having this problem since 1.62.
But someone out there posted a driver version that doesnāt crash , I think itās 510
Hello i can confirm that Reverting to 510.108.03 solved the Problem with Xid 31 Crashes for me.
Since I installed that Driver i was able to play Cyberpunk 2077 for more than two Days without any crashes and really good Performance.
Before that I had those Crashes from one to 10 Minutes of Gameplay, it was really annoying.
Iām using Manjaro Linux, Kernel Version 6.1, Proton Experimental and NVIDIA Driver V. 510.108.03 on a Geforce GTX 1660 super.
Reverting to Driver V. 510.108.03 seems to be a good Workaround for Users with older NVIDIA - Cards without RTX and DLSS - Support, maybe all NVIDIA Cards with the Turing Chipset.
Hi amrits. Can we get a useful update here? This is a major driver regression.
545.23.06 BETA seems to fix that crash for me on archlinux on a RTX 2080 Ti.
I could play through the corpo start without a crash, which didnāt work on the previous version.
Hi , can you try loading a saved game ?
previous driver versions could allow you to start a game without any crash , until you use a loaded game
loading savegames also works for me.
other people also report that the beta version fixes the crash for them: Cyberpunk 2077 Xid 31 Ā· Issue #1510 Ā· HansKristian-Work/vkd3d-proton Ā· GitHub
sweet!
6 months for a fix ⦠Holy fuck .
