With GE-Proton10-34 or proton-cachyos-11.0-20260521 (steam linux runtime) and PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1, the games launches and I see all of the intro videos but then, as soon as it gets to what would be the main menu, I see a black screen. If I set PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=0, it works. I also tried a newer version of proton-cachyos that has had a lot of work done around winewayland.drv and noticed that it fixes HDR. I have attached a before (HDR: off) and after (HDR: on). The only thing that changed was the version of proton-cachyos.
