I am experiencing significant issues with external monitor support on my hybrid NVIDIA + Intel GPU laptop running EndeavourOS (KDE Plasma) with Wayland. I have tried Gnome, KDE Plasma, Cinnamon DE’s, but they all have the same problems, more or less. My setup includes:
Laptop Model: From the HP Pavillion lineup
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1650M + Intel i5 9300H (Hybrid setup)
Ports: 3 USB ports, 1 HDMI port
External Monitor: Connected via HDMI (HDMI is the only port available on the monitor)
When I connect my external monitor to the HDMI port, which I suspect is directly connected to the NVIDIA GPU, I encounter poor performance, graphical glitches, and sometimes the monitor just displays a black screen. From what I’ve gathered, this might be related to reverse-PRIME, as the external HDMI connection seems to be handled by the NVIDIA dGPU while the internal display is handled by the Intel iGPU, but I am still not 100% sure on what the issue could be. I also have a MUXless setup
