Failed to flash orin nx 8gb with jetpack 6.0.0 & nvme

Hello. Ive been having issues to flash to my custom carrier, so I ried to flash with NVIDIA SDK MANAGER 6.0.0, ubuntu 22, in the dev kit carrier for orin.

I was able to flash before, I’m not sure but maybe this issue came after I tried to flash with /doflash.sh.

The last one seems the most “near success” flash but looks like wrong storage gets flashed.

Could you share the flash command you were using to generate the latest flash log?

It took me several attempts too, I got best results when installing the Components over UTP, having removed the USB when the Linux fase completed.

After some retries, I got it working… Sadly, I can’t reproduce and give the solution. Thanks for the support.

I am seeing a very similar issue on my Orin Nano 8GB Dev on nVidia carrier board. Running SDK Manager 2.1.0.011660 on Ubuntu 22.04.

I’ve tried command line to SD Card and a USB SSD (like I did for JP 5.1.2 and it worked on both) and it failed -

Your flash command is wrong. Rel-36 has a new document, please refer to it first.

Command is basically same but you could check the file path and you will notice the difference. In brief, the file path used in your command is wrong.

No, the command from sdkmanager is correct. Your situation on sdkmanager and manual commands are different cases, though they are all “errors” to you.

BTW, there is a known issue in flash on Jetpack6.

To workaround this issue, when you flash the board, plug any kind of usb device to the usb hub on Jetson. (e.g. usb keyboard/mouse).

Ok then - let’s start with the SDK manager - downloaded all software, it found the Orin Nano and attempted to flash the SD card and failed.

Upon learning of the “known issue” I plugged in a USB HD and the SDK Manager recognized as a potential install destination but the timeout “error” was the same.

Please dump the serial console log again with sdkmanager case and also with the USB connected. And need host side log too.

BTW, I didn’t mean you need to install on a USB HD. Just some simple device like usb keyboard or mouse to keep the usb power supply always there.

Already had a bluetooth adapter for a keyboard attached (to change boot order on successful boot) so I added the HD to make sure I had another device on the chain. I am still attempting to install on SD card.

In looking at the run of those commands before the “Waiting…” -

It looks like the Orin doesn’t come back to Bus 2 Dev 24 (??)

Did you also use this host to run jetpack5 flash on same jetson? I guess not as you are using ubuntu22 now?

I used an Ubuntu 20.04 setup w/Jetpack 5.1.2 previously on this board (for all the tc358743 attempts)

This was a fresh install of 22.04 and SDK Manager.
