Issue trying to flash Jetpack 6.2 on SSD

Hello there,

I have a Jetson Orin Nano bought via Yahboom. I thought it was the normal developer kit, but it has no SD entry - and looking at jtop info says it’s a P3767-0003 version. Anyway, used it for almost a year (flashed on Jetpack 6.0) and was trying to upgrade to Jetpack 6.2 for a couple of days now with no success.

Once it has no SD Card entry, I’ve been trying to flash it on the SSD (NVMe) currently flashed to the 6.0 version, but had a lot of issues and found no way out until now.

Attached is the log file. Tried it through sdkmanager using a Ubuntu host, also via WSL, both same issues. If someone could please shed a light on how to solve it I’d be really glad:

but I’ve seen that firewall isn’t blocking anything. Any other ideas?

I’ve noticed that the usb connection speed is being limited to 480Mb, like a 2.0 connection, even though connected to a 3.0 port on the host machine (tested also different ports and cables - and even to a Windows machine). Apparently the Jetson board itself is limiting the usb speed - may that be the problem?

Could you share the link you bought?
Also could you try download Driver Package (BSP) and Sample Root Filesystem from here.
And follow the quick start guide to flash your device.

Trying my best here, but still facing issues. For example when finally trying to run:

I get the error could not stat device /dev/nvme0n1 - no such file or directory among some others (like some files not being in the gzip format)…

Was further reading the link you suggested and here I found something about flashing on NVMe:

Confirm that the device can boot successfully from eMMC. If it cannot, correct the problem by flashing to eMMC first.

This first point i think it’s already my issue. The device simply doesn’t boot successfully when not in recovery mode, just opens the UEFI Interactive Shell below. Is it maybe some fault on eMMC? How can I flash to it first as the guide suggests?

Yahboom’s Jetson Orin Nano 4GB/8GB development board kit is based on our commercial version of the Jetson Orin Nano 4GB/8GB module, and those modules do not come with the microSD card slot and thus require NVMe SSD on the carrier board.

Because it may have a different carrier board hardware configuration, the NVIDIA SDK Manager may not support it.

Please follow Yahboom’s instruction to get this kit upgraded to JetPack 6.2.

Basic Setting > 2.7 Upgrade to SUPER version

Thanks for the reply. The solution they propose is the exact same in the NVIDIA Quick Start Guide shared by @DavidDDD. I’ve abandoned the old linux host machine I was working with and tried with a newer/better one and things finally started working out (don’t know if it was something about connection or timeouts happening, anyway…)

I was now able to flash it successfully as in the guides, then used SDKManager to install the rest of the SDKs.
