Fix my error now please: GeoForce GTX 1080 Ti Driver version 419.17 problem: nvidia-smi.exe error

I just installed the latest driver, version 419.17, and the nvidia-smi-exe utility gives me the following error:

c:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI>nvidia-smi.exe
Unable to determine the device handle for GPU 0000:03:00.0: Unknown Error

This nvidia-smi.exe call used to work with the previous driver, version 384

My system: Windows 10, Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1607 v4 @3.10GHz, 31.92 GB RAM

And what is this “accepted as answer” thing? I am trying to post a question here.

Works just fine for me, 1080 Ti, driver 419.17. The thing is, i DDU-ed my previous driver and installed 419.17 clean. Give that a go.
