GTX 970 on Ubuntu 19.04; no display...

Hello!

On Ubuntu 19.04, I can’t get my GTX 970 to work properly. I have 2 monitors, one is plugged into the motherboard, one into the GPU. When I go to login, both work perfectly. Once I login, only the one plugged into the motherboard will work. I would like to have both plugged into the GPU for dual display. Any recommendations?

Here are the relevant specs:
GPU: MSI GTX 970
CPU: Intel i7 6700K
Mobo: Asus Z170-A

When I go to Software & Updates, under ‘Additional Drivers’, ‘Using NVIDIA driver metapackage from nvidia-driver-415 (open source)’ is selected.

Note, in ‘Software & Updates’, under ‘Additional Drivers’ it says ‘NVIDIA Corporation: GM204 [GeForce GTX 970]’ but when I go to ‘Settings’, then ‘Details’, then ‘About’, next to ‘Graphics’, it says ‘Intel HD Graphics 530 (Skylake GT2)’.

All help is much appreciated. Let me know if you need any more information.

Try replacing GDM with lightdm:
