Hello Support Team,
We are using DGX Spark in an offline (air-gapped) environment and cannot connect the system to the internet for ongoing updates.
The device was successfully started for the first time with an internet connection. However, for all subsequent updates (OS/firmware/drivers/AI software packages), we must keep the system completely offline.
Could you please advise whether DGX Spark supports offline update procedures, such as:
* Downloading update packages on a separate internet-connected machine and transferring them via USB/storage media
* Using a local/offline repository or mirror for package management
* Offline firmware/BIOS/BMC updates and any required tools
* Any official offline update bundle, update utility, or documentation for air-gapped deployments
If offline updates are supported, we would appreciate step-by-step instructions and any prerequisites (supported versions, required files, signatures/checksums, verification steps, etc.).
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
Kanta Sato

I also would like to add that not being able to get out of the wifi connect screen from the initial bootup is extremely unfriendly.
But to answer the question, the best might be to just flash a vanilla Ubuntu and install the pre-installed DGX OS software(+ drivers?) into it.
Hello NVIDIA Support Team.
I came across a comment suggesting that, if offline updates are difficult, we could “flash a vanilla Ubuntu and install the pre-installed DGX OS software (and drivers) on top of it.”
In our case, this doesn’t seem feasible unless NVIDIA provides an official offline method to obtain the required DGX-specific software packages and drivers (and any firmware/BMC/BIOS tooling), because our DGX Spark must operate in an air-gapped environment and cannot be connected to the internet after the initial boot.
Could you please clarify the following?
- Does NVIDIA provide official offline installation/update media for DGX Spark (e.g., ISO, bundle, or repository mirror) that includes:
- DGX OS components / NVIDIA drivers
- CUDA/NCCL and related dependencies (as applicable)
- Firmware/BIOS/BMC update tools and packages
- Integrity verification (signatures/checksums) and a supported process for air-gapped environments
- If “vanilla Ubuntu + DGX software/drivers” is a supported approach, where can we obtain the DGX-specific packages/drivers offline, and what exact versions are supported?
Also, as a usability note: requiring Wi-Fi connectivity at the initial boot screen and making it difficult to proceed without network access is very unfriendly for customers with offline/security constraints. If there is an official way to bypass that screen (or an offline-first setup mode), guidance would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your direction.
Best regards
Currently, the DGX Spark OS requires an internet connection to complete setup and upgrade components. We do plan and are currently working on supporting air-gapped environments. I will update this thread when I can share more information

Hello aniculescu / Support Team,
Thank you for the update. We understand you’re working on air-gapped support.
Could you share an estimated timeline for when offline (air-gapped) setup and upgrade support will be available for DGX Spark OS (even a rough window such as a month/quarter)?
This is a blocking issue for our deployment: after the initial boot, we cannot connect the system to the internet due to security constraints, so we currently have no supported way to keep the system updated.
If there is any interim workaround you can recommend (official offline bundles, a supported local mirror method, or a way to complete setup/updates without internet), we would really appreciate it.
Best regards,
Kanta Sato
