How does Blackwell support high performace NVLink encryption?

In NVidia’s Blackwell brief it says encrypted NVLink P2P data transfer is supported without compromising performance.
As far as I know, Hopper CC’s NVLink encryption has huge overheads. What’s the difference between Blackwell’s and Hopper CC’s NVLink encryption? Is there any detailed documentations about this?

The Protected PCIe mode for Hopper does not support encryption at all. See Security issues in Protected PCIe mode for the rationale. On Blackwell, performance will not degrade as NVLink has cryptography hardware to encrypt and decrypt at (near) line speeds.

Is there any new information on Blackwell NVlink Encryption? I can’t seem to find any public documentation and when I enable a confidential compute VM with 8 GPUs nvlink does not show up.

Enabling B200 with NVLink encryption in CC modes will come in an upcoming release. Be on the lookout on our Driver Release Note pages for CC. Once it’s released, the feature will be included in the notes!
