How to create my own app for Omniverse?

I would like to create my own application for Omniverse, but I don’t know how to start. I’ve seen several instructions on creating Extensions, but could not find anything related to “creation of your own app”. Please advise where I can find such instructions?

Also, question, what is the general guideline to make decision, either I need to create my own app, or I need to use one of the existing apps (such as Create or View)?
