Installing HPC SDK on Windows

Hi,

I use a windows computer and I’m coding in Fortran. Is it possible to install the Nvidia HPC SDK using Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL2)?

(I know the CUDA Toolkit can be installed this way, but as far as I know it doesn’t include a Fortran compiler.)

Thank you!

Hi Koala,

While not officially support, only because of lack of extensive testing, we’ve had many users run successfully under WSL2. I’ve used it myself and saw no issues.

Hi Mat,

I logged into Nvidia Hpc Sdk and see that the windows option for the compilers has been struck off.
Is this permanent ?

Thanks
jo

I’m not sure about permanent, but at least in the foreseeable future. I’m logging requests for Windows and I think management will reassess once we get through the new flang F18 based compiler development.

Thanks Mat , we live in hope…and keep using 19.10 realizing that we are missing out on a growing list of goodies !
