Is the SR-IOV NetworkNodePolicy step still required with NMC 2.0 installation?

Hi everyone,

While reviewing the documentation, I noticed a difference between the NMC 1.1 and NMC 2.0 installation flows for DGX B200 / BasePOD environments:

  • In NMC 1.1, the deployment guide includes a Kubernetes installation step that refers to the SR-IOV configuration guide — specifically, the section titled “Configure SR-IOV NetworkNodePolicy CR” in this document.

  • However, in NMC 2.0, the installation guide describes Kubernetes setup, but it doesn’t mention any SR-IOV configuration steps or the NetworkNodePolicy CR at all.

This leaves me wondering:

  1. Is the SR-IOV NetworkNodePolicy configuration now handled automatically or integrated into the NMC 2.0 installation process?

  2. Or is the SR-IOV setup still required manually (as in 1.1), but just documented elsewhere or assumed to be pre-configured?

In short — during NMC 2.0 deployment, should we still perform the SR-IOV NetworkNodePolicy CR configuration manually, or does NMC 2.0 handle this internally?

Any clarification or reference to updated documentation would be greatly appreciated.
