Jetson AGX Orin 64 GB Module - Ports

Hi, I have been working with a Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit and trained a model for image classification. I am considering purchasing the 64GB module for deploying my model/program. I just had some questions regarding the hardware, specifically the available ports on the module itself. Obviously the module has ethernet capabilities as I can read in the datasheet, but if I purchase the module at this link: https://www.arrow.com/en/products/900-13701-0050-000/nvidia as provided on the nvidia website, does it have ethernet ports where I would just be able to plug in my ethernet cable? Sorry if this is a basic question, but I am a little confused while reading the documentation and cannot find a good photo that allows me to see any of the ports.

Thanks,

Andrew

I’d be happy to help clarify the ports available on the Jetson AGX Orin module.

The Jetson AGX Orin module itself does not have any external ports, including Ethernet ports. The module is a System on Module (SOM) that is designed to be used with a carrier board, which provides the necessary interfaces and ports for connecting peripherals and networking.

The Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit, which you are currently using, includes a carrier board (P3737) that provides various ports, including Ethernet, USB, HDMI, and others. However, when you purchase the 64GB module separately, you will only receive the module itself, without a carrier board.

The link you provided is for the Jetson AGX Orin 64GB module (P3701-0005), which is a production module intended for use with a custom carrier board designed by the user. This module does not have any external ports, and you will need to design and build a carrier board that provides the necessary interfaces and ports for your application.

If you need a module with Ethernet capabilities, you will need to design a carrier board that includes an Ethernet port and connects it to the module’s Ethernet interface. Alternatively, you can use a different module, such as the Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit, which includes a carrier board with Ethernet and other ports.

In comparison, the Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit (P3730) includes a carrier board with the following ports:

  • Ethernet (RJ45)
  • USB 3.2 Gen 2
  • USB 2.0
  • HDMI 2.0
  • DisplayPort 1.4
  • Audio jack (3.5mm)
  • MIPI CSI-2 camera interface
  • MIPI DSI display interface

The production modules, such as the Jetson AGX Orin 64GB module (P3701-0005), do not have any external ports and require a custom carrier board to provide the necessary interfaces and ports.

I hope this clears up any confusion, and please let me know if you have any further questions!
