I will add that most of the fix and most of the issue is due to a difference in device tree between the Seeed carrier board and the dev kit carrier board. Perhaps Seeed has a Debian package for device tree? If so, then it is possible to prevent a similar issue at each update (the package would use Seeed’s device tree instead of NVIDIA’s).
