Licensing error

Hello! I had previously downloaded a trial version of the pgfortran compilers to use in September but, upon discovering the University Developer license, I obtained a year-long license as well. The trial version had been working as expected.

However, I’ve encountered a problem in migrating to the new license. Upon attempting to call pgfortran, I receive the following error:

pgfortran: LICENSE MANAGER PROBLEM: Failed to checkout license
pgfortran: LICENSE MANAGER PROBLEM: Failed to checkout license
pgfortran: LICENSE MANAGER PROBLEM: Failed to checkout license
pgfortran: LICENSE MANAGER PROBLEM: Failed to checkout license
pgfortran: LICENSE MANAGER PROBLEM: Cannot connect to license server system.
The license server manager (lmgrd) has not been started yet,
the wrong port@host or license file is being used, or the
port or hostname in the license file has been changed.
Feature: pgfortran
Server name: 128.8.202.71
License path: /opt/pgi/license.dat:
FlexNet Licensing error:-15,570. System Error: 115 "Operation now in progress"
For further information, refer to the FlexNet Licensing documentation,
available at "www.flexerasoftware.com".
make: *** [heli_vars.mod] Error 2

I have already been through the FAQ and, out of the list of potential fixes for a license manager failure, I was not able to complete the final step: restarting the license manager. This is due to the same system error listed previously.

I’m not sure where to go from here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I have a better suggestion. Download and install the current 16.10 Community edition from http://www.pgroup.com/products/community.htm It comes with
an embedded one year license, and the compilers are fully enabled, just like
the professional edition.

That works brilliantly. Thank you!
