I was toying around with the new ARB_sparse_texture extension, but unfortunately the value reported for GL_MAX_SPARSE_TEXTURE_SIZE_ARB is only 16k. As I understand it, the point of sparse textures is to support texture sizes of something like 256k (and then only commit a few portions of it). Are there any plans to increase this limit in the near future?
