Logic in driver release

I have an rtx 2060 on my laptop and I tried many different drivers from the Nvidia’s official repo.

What I gather so far: only the 515.X.X serie works like a charm on my computer (Debian testing, up to date, kernel 6.1.x) for all the features I need.
The 525 has many annoyances on my system (read not really usable), which led me to ask: since the 515 serie is still updated (515.105.01 here, updated in 2023) , what is the logic for the users to switch to the 525.X.X?

Is it essentially for newer cards (rtx 30XX, 40XX)?

Mine is getting old now by the GPU standards. So I just wanted to sleep smarter.
