Hello,
I have a Gigabyte AORUS 5090 that I’ve been using for about 14 months.
It’s had normal, moderate usage, mostly just for gaming.
Over the last few months, I’ve run into an issue: while gaming, my monitors suddenly go black and the GPU fans immediately ramp up to 100% max speed.
I can still hear the game audio in the background, but the only way to fix it is to do a hard reboot using the power button on my PC case.
The problem is getting worse over time. It used to only happen occasionally, but now it’s happening even during very low-load games like Shape of Dreams.
It also happens consistently every time I run a FurMark benchmark.
For reference, I am using a high-quality MSI MEG Ai1300P PCIE5 PSU (1300W, 80 Plus Platinum, ATX 3.0), so power delivery shouldn’t be an issue.
also the temperature is always around 70°c even under heavy load
Online info about this is a bit confusing, so I wanted to ask if this sounds like a hardware defect and if I should proceed with an RMA?
I also have a video recording of the issue happening.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
