NGC container for GeForce 1070 Ti pascal

I have 1070 Ti Pascal GPU (8GB) system with Ubuntu 18. 16 GB system ram (can be upgraded to 32 GB)

  1. Can i deploy the containers from NGC and run
  2. Can i create multipe clusters and deploy different containers in different clusters?

Please advise.

Yes, you should be able to deploy NGC containers on 1070 Ti. Follow the setup instructions in the documentation:

https://docs.nvidia.com/ngc/index.html

https://docs.nvidia.com/ngc/ngc-titan-setup-guide/index.html

1070 Ti isn’t a specifically tested case by NVIDIA for NGC, so your mileage may vary, but in general it should be usable. For example, the 8GB GPU memory may be a limiting factor for some use cases.

It’s possible to use NGC on multiple machines, including different containers on different machines.

Hi Robert, thank you very much for the response.

The installation guide asks for Ubuntu 16.04 kernel 4.10

The ubuntu site show the following as the 16.04 long term (kernel 4.4):

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) Netboot
Select an architecture to install 16.04 with Xenial’s 4.4 GA kernel

Would the NGC work with this version of Ubuntu. Kindly let me know.

I think that may be a typo in our install guide. 4.4 is fine and correct.

Thanks,
Cliff
