nvcc --foreign in windows with cygwin

Hi,

I tried to get nvcc working with the gcc compiler from cygwin.
Using “–foreign” results in a crash :

 nvcc error   : 'cudafe' died with status 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION)

I know this is a known problem, but all answers I found were quite old,
so I hope that things changed.

gcc is only supported with Linux & Mac.

but what is the “–foreing” switch good for ???
