nvidia-settings says "GLib-GObject-CRITICAL ** ... assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed"

Hello, nvidia-settings yields this CRITICAL error message.

$ nvidia-settings

(nvidia-settings:13435): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 09:14:23.713: g_object_unref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
GPU at BusId 0x1 doesn't have a supported video decoder

What does it mean? What should I check?

I’m quite sure it that after installation (CUDA, CUDNN, TENSORRT, Tensorflow2.1, …) it was fine.

This is under Ubuntu 18.04.3, with nvidia-driver-440
Thanks

I have a similar issue. I get the same error but the NVIDIA X Server Settings panel still comes up.

Glib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 06:29:38:405: g_object_unref: assertion ‘G_IS_OBJECT (object)’ failed
