Nvidia-smi reports no devices found

Hello,
I’ve been working through getting Nvidia kernel modules on my Rocky 8 linux system running on an HP notebook with integrated Intel graphics and secure boot enabled. It’s taken me a while to get through to where I was able to run the Nvidia installer (NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-535.171.04.run) and sign the kernel modules. I removed all of the existing Nvidia drivers prior to running the installer. At boot up, the screen for choosing kernel appears on both the laptop screen and the monitor attached to the GTX 4060Ti connected to my system. The screen goes black, and then boots up on the laptop screen.
I went through the log file attached looking for an obvious “error” message but nothing jumped out at me. I examined BIOS settings to see if there were any options for selecting displays, but didn’t find anything obvious there either.

Bug report log attached - any advice appreciated !

Chuck
