Orin Dev Kit flash fails due bad repository entry

I have an Orin 64GB Developer kit. I broke the installation trying to install the Atom editor. Now SDK Manager stops before flashing with error message: SDK Manager detected your system may not ready for installation, see specific errors below. … "Access to APT repository and ability to install Debian packages with it.: Apt repository check failure (1. sudo -S apt-get update && sudo -S apt-get check; 2. dpkg --audit). E: Failed to fetch https://packagecloud.io/AtomEditor/atom/any/dists/any/InRelease 402 Payment Required [IP: 54.219.193.67 443] "

The Error log reports:

  • “ERROR: File System and OS – target image: E: The repository ‘https:/ppa.launchpadcontent.net/webupd8team/atom/ubuntu jammy Release’ does not have a Release file.”
  • “ERROR: Install pre-check Access to Apt repository and ability to install Debian packeges with it. Verify failed.”

I was unable to remove the bad repository entry. Eventually I removed and reformatted the Nvme card. Orin now boots OK but has only basic bash commands such as ls. Linux commands such as apt, dpkg or sudo are not recognised.

Reflashing, Uninstalling/repair using SDK Manager (Force Recovery/Reset buttons) does not clear the problem.

What do I do now?

Why does an installation on Orin crash your sdkmanager?

Sdkmanager is totally on another host PC.

Force Recovery is also just to put the board into a state which sdkmanager can flash it from another PC. Nothing to do with restore anything.

SDK Manager does not crash. I use it to flash the Orin Dev Kit. But SDK Manager won’t flash the Orin and provides the error reports above.

Fixed: it was invalid PPA in the host (not on Orin)

Thanks

So is there any issue here?

No. Fixed thanks
