Have you configured PG.06 as GPIO/Output/Drive 0 in pinmux spreadsheet before use?

Please try using the following command instead.

# gpioset --mode=wait `gpiofind "PG.06"`=1
# gpioset --mode=wait `gpiofind "PG.06"`=0
