I’m currently working on the 5.1.2 version of the Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano jetpack with the IMX477 camera module. Camera operating in linear mode. But during the day, the region surrounding the sun becomes saturated. I too have this video quality problem at night, when both the headlights of the cars and the streetlights are getting saturated. See the attached image for better understanding of the problem. looking for a solution to fix it either from ISP tuning, driver, firmware, etc.
hello jadenwu39_yva0g,
this is SDR mode limitation as you’re capturing in such high-contrast scenes.
please try enable WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) for your use-case.
you may contact with Jetson Camera Partners for camera solutions.
Hi Jerry,
is there any parameter in the camera_overrides.isp file? which I can change to reduce AE Target So bright objects can be avoided from saturation.
Thanks
hello jadenwu39_yva0g,
we’re not support image tuning stuffs via public forum discussion threads.
may I confirm who’s your sensor vendor.
Hi Jerry,
Thank you for your response.
Sensor vendor is Waveshare.
Thanks
as mentioned, please contact with sensor vendor for image tuning supports.
Hi @JerryChang
I work together on this project with @jadenwu39_yva0g - what other sensor can you recommend to fix this pixel saturation? We have tested IMX219 and IMX477 - both have a very bad performance at night.
hello naxty,
both IMX219 and IMX477 were SDR sensors.
you should survey with high dynamic range sensors for such low-light scenario.
