Python scripts in Content browser run unexpectedly when you right mouse button click

Kit 109.02, Isaac 5.1 and 6.0
Work Flow:

If you Right Mouse Button click on a .py file in your content browser, the script will run. Doesn’t matter if your intention was to copy or edit, as soon as your click, the script runs.

Also a little dangerous that double clicking with left mouse button on script executes it but at least that is more intentional.

Moving this is the ISAAC SIM channel. Please post Isaac Sim related matters to there in future.

I’m unable to reproduce this issue in 5.1.0. Please share a screen recording and a simplest .py file.

Thanks for the report. I’m unable to reproduce this in Isaac Sim 5.1.0 on my side. Could you please share:

  • A short screen recording showing the right‑click behavior in the Content Browser
  • The simplest .py file that still triggers this issue

This will help file and debug the issue more effectively.

Hi,

Slight clarification, it’s when you Right Click to edit Python Script that it executes.

Thanks for the screen recording. The behavior is reproducible even on Isaac Sim 6.0.0 OSS, and an internal ticket has been filed to track this issue.

This issue has been fixed internally. Please help verify the behavior after the Isaac Sim repository is updated, which should happen by the end of next week.
