If you want a gpio got value hogged by default, then you need to apply dtsi file.
Honestly, I don’t think you need to keep asking me whether this needs to be added or not. You could do the test first on your side. This won’t hurt your board and you could be more familiar with the process too.
If the result is same as what I said, it just means what I said is correct. If the result is not expected, then it means what I said is not correct. That’s all.
I am also mankind. What I remember might be wrong. Doing the test on your board is the most straightforward way.
