I’m just about to install the newest NVIDIA driver from my card. This one: Linux x64 (AMD64/EM64T) Display Driver | 319.60 | Linux 64-bit | NVIDIA However, since this has completely ruined my system before, I know that there is at least a 50% chance that it won’t work. And if it doesn’t work, a pretty fat chance that it’ll create a mess for me, or in the worst case ruin my system completely.
So - if/when the driver doesn’t work - how can I uninstall it afterwards?
If you install the driver using the .run installer, then you can uninstall it again by running “sudo nvidia-uninstall”. If you install it via your Linux distribution’s packages, then you’ll need to refer to your distribution’s instructions on how to uninstall packages since it’s different for different distributions.
Ah, thanks a lot :-) It’s the .run installer I’m using.
For people who install through Linux distribution way, I posted the way at python - cuML cannot find GPU in WSL2 - Stack Overflow
Hope it helps people who meet same issue in the future! ☺️
