Hello to everyone,
I am facing the following issue with a vCenter environment and I would appreciate your thoughts.
vSphere 8.0.3
Esxi hosts with Nvidia A16/A2
RHEL 8.10 VM
Driver Version: 550.127.05
CUDA Version: 12.4
rpm installed in RHEL: nvidia-linux-grid-550.x86_64
lspci | grep VGA:
VGA compatible controller: VMware SVGA II Adapter
NVIDIA Corporation GA107GL [A2 / A16] (rev a1)
nvidia-smi -q | grep -i license:
License Status: Licensed
nvidia-smi recognizes the adapter.
Under the processes, /usr/libexec/Xorg is listed.
glxinfo | grep OpenGL:
OpenGL renderer string: llvmpipe (LLVM 15.0.7, 256 bits)
I am trying to get the OS to recognize under OpenGL renderer the Nvidia card but I haven’t succeeded.
I have tried several combinations with xorg.conf file but when I set it to use only the Nvidia card, I get a black screen before the login screen. VM is still operational, as I can connect with SSH, etc.
I have read several posts related to configuring Nvidia graphics but none of them helped.
I also tried the nvidia-xconfig generated file with no luck.
Any thoughts what I could be missing here?
Thank you in advance.
