I am currently, for the second time, trying to complete the above course. I have completed, assessment passed, the first section but when trying to do the assessment on the second section (Custom Kernels and Memory Management…) the assessment fails to finish. It doesn’t fail in the notebook, everything there passes and it doesn’t tell me I failed the assessment, it fails with a network error of some sort as seen below.
This is frustrating because this is the second time I purchased the course after the first time somehow got switched to “Instructor-lead” and also said I was out of time. I thought this error was related to that (because I got it previously as well that is why I ran out of time). So two purchases and still can’t complete the course through no fault of my own. I would really love some help if possible, I had planned on taking a large number of courses but this error makes me question that. Thanks!
Hi @TomNVIDIA thank you for the additional time! Unfortunately, the notebook still fails with the above error when doing asses task. If it was a notebook problem, it would tell me the notebook was wrong in someway, however is just fails like above. As a note, I have tried submitting on multiple machines both at home and at work. The issues seems to not be on my side. If you have a suggestion, I would be happy to hear it! I really don’t want to waste purchasing the course two times.
@TomNVIDIA@tdahlin I hope there will be an update on this soon! If it can’t be fixed though, I would like to request refunds for the instance I have purchase as I can’t finish the certificate due to no fault of mine.

Hey guys, this same bug is still there as of January 15 for the second assessment, especially Custom CUDA Kernels in Python with Numba.
Because of this bug, that particular error keeps occurring. I have tried every possible step to fix it but had no luck. I am sure it’s a bug because many people have reported it.
Can I still get the certificate? I have completed the first and third assessments, but due to the bug in the second one, I am unable to proceed.
I just tried the section 2 assessment, and was able to complete it without any issue.
My best guess about your current situation is one that is somewhat common for this task, namely, the notebook instructions indicate that you need to paste your histogram solution to assessment/histogram.py before running the assessment checker. Many folks miss this critical step.
Here is a quote from the notebook:
| After making any modifications, and before running the assessment, paste this cell’s content into assessment/histogram.py and save it.
Please try this out, or, if this is not your issue, please provide me with more details about the bug you are viewing, and I’ll actively work with you to get you unblocked. It sounds like you’ve done a lot of work to earn your certificate, and I’m excited to see that happen.
I have completed the course. Thank you for the support.
We are bit confused by the message “We encountered an error. Please try Again”. We all though our code was running good, we did not expect that we had missed something crucial. Thanks you again.
Thanks @jwyatt , I am delighted to share that I have successfully completed the course and earned the certification. It has been an incredible learning experience, and I have gained substantial knowledge in Numba and CUDA kernels. Thank you for providing such a valuable resource!
I also have a request: I am keen on pursuing the NCA-GENL certification next. Would it be possible to provide a coupon or discount for the course? It would be immensely helpful.
Thank you once again for your guidance and support!
Hi,
I am currently doing the section 2 assessment of the CUDA Python and I have the same problem. I saved my code on the assesment/histogram.py file and I also re-run the notebook but with no success. If anyone has an idea on how I can resolve the problem I would be glad to know it.
Please send me a copy of your histogram.py file (renamed to histogram.txt please, so my email client doesn’t block it) to jwyatt@nvidia.com, and I’ll follow up with you over email.
