Xid 8 GPU freeze on ArchLinux + KDE and new Geforce GTX 1660 + AMD 5900X + Gigabyte X570 Aorus

I’m pretty much out of ideas with this one, it seems my GPU keeps freezing with Xid 8…

PID 1647 is kwin_x11. After this happens Xorg goes into 100% core consumption and the screens turn off after a few mins.

This happens after a few days. It happened with 1 or 4 screens plugged in. The only thing which fixed it is using software rendering instead of OpenGL.

All I am doing is using KDE, no games, thunderbird, chrome, firefox and konsole.

I’ll attach the debug log next.

Please check for a bios update first.
Unfortunately, log persistence is turned off in your system so no errors are caught in the logs, it contains only the current boot.

I’ll do a BIOS update tomorrow and try reproduce it again. I’ve been trying to track this down for at least 2 months now. (BIOS update back then was the first thing I did). I see there is a new one though.

I have the logs from the previous boot, but the only thing relevant in it is the 2 lines I posted above.

If/when it happens again I’ll run the bug report right after the error.
