Hi to you all,
I’m about to buy a notebook and i was just wondering whether the Geforce 9800M GS
is CUDA enabled or not.
Being based on the G94 chip
http://www.gpureview.com/nvidia-g94m-chip-159.html
it should be.
but then i noticed that ALL the lists of the Cuda enabled products
http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_learn_products.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CUDA#Supported_GPUs
don’t mention the GS.
Is there just an omission or there will be problems in using Cuda on that card ?
Any help will be greatly apreciated.
greetings,
clad.
Yes, the 9800M GS supports CUDA.

This may be unrelated, but geri9 wrote a few days ago in another (Linux) thread:

I now localized the problem: It is the PowerMizer, which is not working on the 9800M GTX.
This slows down the graphics hardware, so CUDA is NOT useable on mobile devices (crap!).

Hi,
many thanks to you all.
-> for jma:
I’m assuming that the thread you mentioned is old and ONLY for linux notebooks.
fortunatly-unfortunatly i’ll have to work with directX … so Win based …
probably Vista … hopefully XP 64.
cheers.
