Black screen after login on Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit (JetPack 6.2.x)

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with my Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit. After flashing the system, the device boots normally and I can reach the login screen. However, when I select the user and try to enter the desktop environment, the screen goes completely black while the monitor still detects an active signal.

System information:

  • Device: Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit

  • Firmware version: 36.5

  • Host Ubuntu version: 22.04

  • JetPack versions tested:

    • JetPack 6.2.1 (microSD image)

    • JetPack 6.2.2 (flashed with SDK Manager)

What I have already tried:

  • Flashing JetPack 6.2.1 directly to a microSD card.

  • Flashing the system using SDK Manager.

  • Flashing to an NVMe drive.

  • Reflashing multiple times using different methods.

In all cases the behavior is the same: the system boots, but after selecting the user the display turns black and the desktop does not appear.

Has anyone encountered this issue before or knows what could be causing the desktop to fail to load?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could you login the system via ssh or minicom?

Yes, I can access via SSH, I tried to reinstall gdm3 and it worked for a moment but when restarting the system still have the issue

Have you tried using different DP cables or testing with other monitors to help cross check the issue?
