Camera Adapter for NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin

Hello, guys.

I received my Jetson AGX Orin 64gb board yesterday. Before that, I had a Jetson nano 2gb for a few years and a raspberry Pi camera v2.1. It easily connects to the jetson nano 2gb using the connector on the board.

I wanted to connect this camera to an AGX Orin 64gb and it turned out that the connectors were completely different and I couldn’t connect the camera to the new board. I searched the whole internet and found only 1 solution - an expansion card. And there are only 3 options, one of which costs as much as a whole Jetson Orin nano (which is inadequate at all):

  1. Allied Vision Adapter Board - $143
  2. Arducam IMX219 Multi-Camera Kit - $179

The first option costs the same as the Arducam, but the Arducam comes with 6 cameras, although I don’t need them.

So I have a few questions:

  1. How can I connect csi cameras to Orin? I want 3 cameras in total
  2. Is it true that the expansion boards as shown above are the only option, how can I connect cameras to Orin? Because I will need to connect a Waveshare IMX219-83 Stereo Camera which consists of 2 cameras and 1 more camera with night vision or even a thermal imager.
  3. If expansion cards are the only option, is there anything at a more reasonable price, at least around $50?
  4. Are there any other solutions besides buying the “Arducam IMX219 Multi-Camera Kit” expansion card? Connecting to other sockets or something else?

Thank you very much in advance for reading this and trying to help me.

Hi, for Jetson, there is a camera connector on devkit carrier board. You can find the connector pin mapping in the carrier board specification in DLC. For the camera board, you need to check with the vendor for the compatible thing. You can check with the vendors in Jetson ecosystem: Jetson Ecosystem | NVIDIA Developer

Hello, Trumany. I didn’t find any information in the DLC that I can connect the camera to the AGX Orin as easily as to my jetson nano 2gb just using the existing connector. The AGX ORIN has a completely different connector that I can’t connect the camera to.

In the “Jetson Ecosystem | NVIDIA Developer” I also did not find anything about a board to connect the camera to. Only cameras themselves, or ready-made boards. But I don’t need a camera or an agx orin board because I already have one.

I only need an adapter from the AGX Orin board to the CSI camera. As I mentioned above, arducam sells such an adapter with 6 cameras, which makes the price of this adapter too high.

That’s why you need to check with the vendors in ecosystem for the adapter board.
