Can I use Jetson TK1 fan in Jetson nano?

Hi all,

I recently bought a Jetson nano development board and as it has a passive heatsink only, I thought of connecting my old Jetson TK1 fan to Jetson nano, I just plugged it and check, It’s working in Jetson nano board, Just want to know whether is it ok to keep it plugged to Jetson nano or should I use a different 5v fan ?

The fan header on JTK1 and Jetson nano have same pin definition, But the JTK1 fan power is 12v while Jetson nano is 5v, The fan could be work on Jetson nano but it will result in lower fan speed.

Thanks for your reply, Yeah fan speed is slow, But my concern is , Will there be any effect/impedance on Nano board because of the 12V fan ?

No effect to Nano board except the thermal solution is not very good.
