Can you run XR Cloud Servers on Physical Servers

Hi all, I have a client who wants to run XR Cloud Servers on-premise on their own physical servers. I have two questions here:

  1. Is that possible?
  2. If so, is there a max amount of XR Cloud Servers that can run on a single server?

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello @douglas.fajardo! Welcome to the Community! I directed your questions to the XR team. We should hear back soon!

Hi @douglas.fajardo .

  1. Yes it’s possible to run via bare-metal/discrete, passthrough or though vGPU licensed implementations on your own server.
  2. CloudXR servers support connections that are 1:1 between the OS and Application. If, however, you’d use a vWS license on vGPU and a preferred hypervisor, the number of users that can be supported by a single virtualized graphics card is largely dependent on the VR application. We generally suggest typical encoding workloads a single card Turing or Ampere generation card can support are a maximum of two users for HMDs with specs similar to those of the Quest 2. We strongly recommend testing this for your specific application.

Thank you, really appreciate the reply to this issue.
