Hello,
I have installed the Cuda Toolkit for OpenSuse (latest version) on Ubuntu Feisty. I am running the x86-100.14.11 driver. Normal Open GL applications work fine. Some applications of the Cuda SDK also work (scan, transpose, clock…). But other apps (I guess they want to display results) quit immediately with the following output:
./SobelFilter
Cannot find NVIDIA driver.
Graphics interoperability not supported.
Any idea what could be wrong?

Are you running the apps inside of X?
What kind of graphics card are you using?
Please generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log.
Also, please note that Ubuntu is not supported for the 1.0 release.

EDIT: hm, I had to rename the logfile otherwise I get:
Upload failed. You are not permitted to upload a file with that file extension.

Is there any news regarding this problem? I’m having the exact same one with Ubuntu and CUDA on my Znote 6224W.
What is the output from glxinfo?
Ubuntu will be supported in the next CUDA release.
glxinfo gives the output below. I don’t know if the problem lies with Ubuntu not being officially supported, it might as well be because I have a laptop G8 rather than a desktop one. I had the same problem with graphics interoperability not working in XP. Unfortunately, the fix for XP (basically just leaving out the “isGraphicsInteroperabilitySupported” function call) does not eliminate the problem in Ubuntu. It just gives me a black window.

Hi Michael,
I got the same problem on an Ubuntu 7.10 installation with a 8800gts. I only have the 100.14 driver installed that comes with ubuntu not that one provided at the cuda page. Which one do you have just o eliminate one source of error.
I got CUDA working fine on an Ubuntu 7.04 also with a 8800gts. Maybe they changed something in the new version.
Any other hints?

Works for me now. You need the 100.14 driver from the CUDA page. The standard 100.14 won’t work…
There’s only one 100.14.11 driver. There is no ‘CUDA’ specific version.
