Chat with Llava fails

I am trying this tutorial: LLaVA - NVIDIA Jetson AI Lab

Using a Xavier AGX.

Downloading the model works fine:

pit@pit-desktop:~/jetson-containers$ jetson-containers run --workdir=/opt/text-generation-webui $(autotag text-generation-webui) \
> python3 download-model.py --output=/data/models/text-generation-webui \

Hi @michtw , I recall in the oobabooga webui, there is a “use safetensors” option in the model loader section, so it may need a similar flag if done from the command line. You do not need jp5 git branch of jetson-containers anymore, that was from long ago. Also the Multimodal Chat could still working with JetPack 5, I had recently rebuild the container for it on L4T R35.2.1.

But I can’t wrap my brain around “use safetensors”.
Any hint appreciated.

-Pete

As usual, I made it too complicated. -

Finally filling-in the huggingface URL for “TheBloke/Llama-2-7b-Chat-GGUF” did the trick.

I’ve seen a ‘one file solution’ with *.safetensors before and was running down the wrong path on docker file level.

BTW: Tutorial - text-generation-webui can be also marked as working for Jetson AGX Xavier (32GB)

Thanks @pitfo, glad to hear that you got that working - the VLM support in oogabooga can be hit or miss and it is not very feasible to keep that page up with all the latest across the APIs available. We have been working to get these updated on the site with the latest VLM support available from the likes of llama.cpp, MLC, vLLM, SGLang, ect.

What I would recommend in the meantime, is to use our containers of these libraries and refer to their specific upstream documentation. Continually reconciling the docs of all these other active projects has proven difficult to keep updated, so in the future we try to dynamically pull these resources in so you are naturally directed to the latest info.

Thanks for your note @dusty_nv,
It is unfair from my side, still creating problems with an old Xavier AGX. But there is light @the end of the tunnel, my new Orin AGX is onboard of a ship from Ireland and the whole tutorial site and finally Jetpack 6 opens a new world for me.

Containers: Is there a world without? J
Yes, that’s the way to get it managed and 98%, I’m in one of your Docker containers.
