Clocking issues in some games with RTX 5080?

And did you get a bug number when you reported it?

Issue still present with the latest driver 570.124.04

It is bizarre, because this does not happen in all games. Did you notice on which conditions this happens?

hmm no, the conditions seem to be completely random.

I was wondering if DXVK_NVAPI_VKREFLEX envvar could help (since you reported some impact of nvidia Reflex on this happening). See jp7677/dxvk-nvapi: Alternative NVAPI implementation on top of DXVK. for information on these settings. I will test it on Cyberpunk and report.

AFAIK vkreflex is for Vulkan games… Like RDR2 etc.

Hi!
For me it’s fixed with driver version 570.133.07. In general, this driver gave me a huge performance boost in Hogwarts Legacy.
Thank you!

Looks fixed in Cyberpunk too. Many thanks to the developers!

Am using a 4090 (not like you guys), but am on 570.124.04 at the moment, and I ended up here after hours researching to see that the same game (Hogwarts Legacy) lost 50% of the performance when compared to the 565. Basically on the same areas I see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vclKGHPzF5U (This video uses 565), they dropped by 50% or more. Now they are all 112 FPS or less.

From my understanding, the 570.133.07 would solve this issue?

This thread concerns a very specific bug that was triggered using FG and MFG, leading to the RTX5080 to drop its clock to 780 MHz at non-specific time during play, drastically reducing performance (see the screenshot for @alex.lange, you see the 780 MHz value on mangohud top right corner).

This also had 100% chance of happening with Cyberpunk using 4X MFG (as soon as one reached the menu), as I reported.

As far as I and @alex.lange tested, it is fixed in 570.133.07.

I am not sure what you are mentioning has any connection, but the only way to be sure is for you to test. Note also that Blackwell requires open drivers, whereas Ada can use both, this may be important for comparison purposes.

Because as I mentioned, it is the same error. FG kills 50% of the FPS on that specific game.

If it is the same error, then this would likely fix it. At least this is fixed for Cyberpunk and Hogwarts Legacy, so there is strong reason to think it would be the same for you. It would be great that you could confirm this.

Just tested Cyberpunk, you were right. I had to compare it with past videos and yes, another 50% drop. I need to wait for Ubuntu to update the PPA for the latest 570 and will up you what happens.

OK I get it. Yes the best way is to activate mangohud to help with diagnosis.
