CUDA for hardware accelerated 3d sound calculation

Can CUDA-enabled boards be used for hardware accelerated 3d sound calculation (conversion to 5.1/7.1 channels, sound propagation in different game environments, etc.) ?

Now that Directsound is software-only in Vista (at least no more calculation on the soundcard), can’t GPUs take over those calculations. Those should be close enough to physics calculation.

I could imagine getting a third Geforce beside my (soon-to-be) SLI setup, dedicated to physx and 3d sound calculations.

Is any development being done in that direction?

PS: I read Physx on CUDA will be available for all Geforce 8/9 cards soon. Will this include those PCI (not PCIe) based cards ?
