DGX SPARK won’t boot up

Hello,

Upon boot up of my NVDA DGX SPARK a black screen appears with just my cursor. The problem occurred when I created a trading model and it stored a lot of data.

I have deleted some of that data but the problem persists. I have narrowed it down to a couple things that could be the root cause

  1. Wrong permissions or missing files in your home directory

  2. Broken Xorg config (/etc/X11/xorg.conf)

  3. Missing display manager or NVIDIA drivers

  4. Missing temporary directories like /tmp/.X11-unix

Please help.

there is a usb iso to restore your spark to good standing .. that should help

Are you still able to access the unit remotely through SSH?

You have to make the ISO bootable DRIVE right now.

I did manage to make a Agent with some Linux access and it did ruin my linux boot and other things that it have should never done.

Download the image, download Rufus, format the USB read the iso though Rufus and wait to load the image and make the boot sequence on USB drive, the installation does take a while, but be patient and you will have a faster GB10 machine since the latest downloads, make it boot faster and bee more secure. Also some performance gains and compatibility with SM121.

Goodnews, I used a bootable drive to get my spark working at the cost of my project ( I did have a version several revisions backed up on GitHub), so I can work from there.

I am not a coder or by any means good with Linux so it took a lot of help.

for anyone in my same shoes here is the steps I took.

  1. Download recovery image from:

https://developer.nvidia.com/downloads/dgx-spark/dgx-spark-recovery-image-1.120.36.tar.gz

  1. Flash image onto USB.

  2. restart DGX hold ESC

  3. Enter UEFI on the DGX Spark
    Disconnect any external storage devices from the DGX Spark, then connect the recovery USB drive to one of its USB ports. Power on the device and immediately hold down Esc or Del to enter UEFI settings.

5 — Restore UEFI Defaults
In UEFI, press the Right Arrow to navigate to the “Save & Exit” page. Select “Restore Defaults” and confirm “Yes” to load optimized defaults. Then select “Save Changes and Reset.” While rebooting, hold Esc or Del again to re-enter UEFI

  1. Enable Secure Boot
    Navigate to the Security tab in UEFI, confirm that “Secure Boot” is set to Enabled, and select “Restore Factory Keys.” Then go to “Save and Exit” and choose “Save Changes and Reset.

7)While the device reboots, hold Esc to re-enter UEFI a third time. Navigate to the “Save & Exit” page, scroll down to the Boot Override section, select your USB drive, and press Enter

  1. Run the Recovery
    On the welcome screen, press Enter to continue. On the warning screen, select [START RECOVERY] to begin reflashing the SSD — be aware this will completely erase the internal SSD. Monitor the Recovery Progress screen, and when complete, press Enter to restart the device.

After that set up like normal.

No that wasn’t working but I was able to get it fixed by flashing it with a usb thanks

gg at least your unit it working again - i had to rma one of my 2 due to a faulty nvme
