Does Jetson TK1 support H265 video encoding?

Hi,

May I know does the Jetson TK1 hardware support H265 video encoding? The Gstreamer version used in Jetson TK1 is gstreamer 1.2.4. It does not support H265 encoding. Can I upgrade the Gstreamer version to the latest version 1.8? or can I install Ubuntu 16.04 into Jetson TK1 so that I can get the latest Gstreamer version that support H265 encoding?

I believe that for H.265 you’d want the TX1…TK1 supports H.264. There may be software-only ways of doing this, but performance would not be good.
