ECC on vs ECC off

After turning off ECC on my card Fermi Tesla 2050, the speed of my application improves by 8~10%.
So Is it recommended to turn it off for improving the speed ? I suspect there would be errors that need to be checked manually, what kind of errors is that and how could I check it ?

No ECC protects against silent errors. You cannot really check for them (except that your results might be wrong when you have a bit error in your memory). If you don’t use ECC memory for your work on CPU’s, and you thought about that you will not need it on C2050
