Functional safety (SIL Levels) plans for Jetson AGX Orin beyond automotive

Hi,

I’d like to know if there are any plans for safety modules or certifications (SIL levels) for the Jetson AGX Orin platform. Are these safety standards being considered for sectors beyond automotive, such as rail, avionics, boating, or industrial automation?

Currently, it seems functional safety certifications like ASIL-D are focused on automotive platforms (e.g., DRIVE AGX Orin). Are there any updates on expanding these certifications to other industries for Jetson AGX Orin?

I can’t speak for NVIDIA, but this is the realm of the Drive platform used in automotive. Unless Jetsons get an ARM Cortex-R series system (without the ARM Cortex-A, or at least with much more Cortex-R support), then I don’t think it can happen.

There is no plan for Jetson AGX Orin platform, you should use DRIVE AGX Orin if required functional safety features and certificate.
